My Year of Jubilee
Mar 04, 2025I’m The Real Jason Duncan, back with your weekly Beyond the Grind blog, where we help entrepreneurs like you build thriving businesses without sacrificing your freedom. 🚀
My wife, Kristie, and my assistant, Renee, threw me an incredible birthday celebration at The Standard Club in Nashville.
It was an unforgettable night filled with great friends, amazing clients, and family who have been with me through every season of my journey.
On my birthday, I did exactly what I wanted to do:
I took the entire day off.
No meetings. No calls. No emails.
Just me, my family, and the incredible German chocolate cake my mom has baked for me every single year for as long as I can remember.
It was perfect.
Hitting this milestone has made me reflect in a way I never have before. It’s made me ask:
- Where have I been?
- What have I overcome?
- What do I need to let go of?
- And most importantly, where am I going next?
The answer came to me loud and clear: I am stepping into my Year of Jubilee.
What Is Jubilee?
Jubilee is an ancient biblical principle found in Leviticus 25. Every 50 years, God commanded His people to hit the reset button:
- Debts were erased.
- Slaves and prisoners were set free.
- Land was returned to its original owners.
- The people were released from past burdens and given a fresh start.
In short, it was a year of total restoration and freedom.
A divine reset, where everything lost was restored, everything broken was rebuilt, and everything stolen was returned.
And I can’t think of a more powerful way to step into this season than to claim this promise for myself.
Why This Year Is Different
If you’ve been reading my blogs for any amount of time or know me personally, you know my entrepreneurial journey hasn’t been easy.
I’ve been betrayed by people I considered family—employees, friends, even a business partner whose handshake I trusted more than a contract.
That betrayal didn’t just cost me millions—it cost me my business.
The company I spent years building, scaling, and nurturing—gone.
Not because of a bad market. Not because I failed to serve my clients. But because of the actions of people I trusted.
I’ve had sleepless nights staring at the ceiling, replaying every decision, wondering if I could’ve seen it coming, feeling the weight of uncertainty press down like a 10-ton boulder.
And every morning, I’d wake up, look in the mirror, and see a man whose beard grew a little grayer every day—a reminder of the war I’ve been fighting since everything changed.
But here’s the truth: I am still here. 💪
Not just here—but stronger, sharper, and more energized than ever before.
I refuse to let the past define my future.
I refuse to carry bitterness over things I can’t change.
I refuse to be weighed down by past losses when God has called me forward.
This is why I’m declaring this my Year of Jubilee.
Not just as a celebration, but as a conscious choice to reset, restore, and reclaim everything God has for me.
A Renewed Commitment to the Five Freedoms
I’ve shared my Five Freedoms Framework before:
- Energy – The foundation. Without it, nothing else matters.
- Money – A renewable resource that should be used wisely.
- Time – Our most precious, non-renewable resource.
- Choice – The ability to decide what you do, when, and with whom.
- Purpose – The ultimate freedom, where everything comes together.
This Year of Jubilee is about fully stepping into these freedoms:
- Freedom of Energy – I feel younger, stronger, and more energized than ever.
- Freedom of Money – This is the year I reset my business, double the Exiter Club’s membership, and create more impact than ever.
- Freedom of Time – I’m working smarter, not harder, and reclaiming my time for what matters.
- Freedom of Choice – I’ve cut out distractions and focused only on what aligns with my mission.
- Freedom of Purpose – More than ever, I know why I’m here, what I’m called to do, and who I’m here to serve.
This is my Year of Jubilee—and I want it to be yours too.
What Would Your Jubilee Look Like?
Imagine if you could wipe the slate clean and start fresh.
What if this year, you finally let go of the burdens holding you back?
What if you forgave yourself for past mistakes and moved forward with renewed focus?
What if you claimed your own Jubilee—not just for your business, but for your life?
That’s what I’m inviting you to do today.
This Year, I’m Walking in Freedom
This is a new season, and I’m walking into it without fear, without baggage, and without limits.
This year, I’m claiming my Jubilee. This year, I’m choosing freedom.
And I want you to do the same.
Go beyond the grind,
The Real Jason Duncan 🚀
