I recently shared why I have a personal mission statement—how it gives me clarity, direction, and a filter for making decisions.

But I didn’t just write a mission statement for the sake of having one. Every single word was carefully chosen to reflect what I believe, what I stand for, and how I want to live my life.

So today, I’m following through on what I promised—breaking it down, line by line.

Not because you need to copy it, but because I want you to see how powerful it is to put your purpose into words.

Why Every Word of My Mission Statement Matters

Writing a mission statement is one thing. Living by it is another.

Today, I’m breaking mine down, line by line, to show you exactly how I’ve built my life, my business, and my impact around these words.

I’m laying it all out. Each heading below represents a key pillar of my mission statement, with the exact words I wrote followed by why I wrote them.

Prosperity, Wealth & Generosity

➡️ "My mission is to embody prosperity, wealth, and spectacular generosity, recognizing that my success and resources are gifts from God."

👉 Why I Wrote This: I believe success isn’t just about making money—it’s about using the wealth and resources God blesses me with to bless others. Everything I have is a gift, and I want to steward it well.

Faith at the Core of Everything

➡️ "My faith in Jesus Christ is at the core of everything I do, guiding me to represent Him in my actions and bring the Kingdom of God to others."

👉 Why I Wrote This: My business, my relationships, my decisions—all of it is rooted in my faith. If I’m not honoring Christ in what I do, I’m off track.

Living by Integrity & The Golden Rule

➡️ "My life is guided by the principles of honesty, integrity, and the golden rule."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Character matters. I refuse to cut corners, cheat, or deceive to get ahead. If I don’t treat others with integrity, I’ve failed before I even start.

Commitment to Others

➡️ "I strive to live a life that pleases God, honors my wife, and serves others."

👉 Why I Wrote This: My life is about–at least it should be–focusing on others more than myself. If I fail at being a good child of God, a good husband, and a good friend, no amount of success in business will ever matter.

Commitment to My Wife Above All Others

➡️ "My relationship with my wife is the most important earthly relationship I have, and I am committed to protecting and providing for her above all else."

👉 Why I Wrote This: My wife is my top priority on this earth. Marriage isn’t just about love—it’s about commitment. I want Kristie to always know she is my priority, no matter what.

Raising & Leading My Children

➡️ "Right after my wife, my children hold a special place in my heart. I am dedicated to guiding and supporting them, helping them grow into self-actualized individuals who find joy, passion, and purpose in their lives, and encouraging them to build strong, God-centered marriages of their own."

👉 Why I Wrote This: I don’t just want to raise good kids—I want to raise strong, confident, God-honoring adults who carry their own mission into the world.

Using My Gifts to Serve

➡️ "I recognize that God has gifted me with the abilities of teaching and leadership, and I am committed to using these gifts to serve others."

👉 Why I Wrote This: My greatest impact won’t come from what I build for myself—it will come from how I use my God-given abilities to help others grow.

Enjoying Life as God Intended

➡️ "At the same time, I believe that God created this world for us to enjoy, and it is part of my mission to fully embrace and enjoy the life He has given me."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Life isn’t meant to be all work and no joy. I want to enjoy every moment God has given me—whether that’s through travel, adventure, or just being present with loved ones.

Being a Positive Influence

➡️ "I aim to be a positive influence, guiding and empowering those around me."

👉 Why I Wrote This: We all leave a mark. I want mine to be one of leadership, encouragement, and inspiration.

Pursuing True Freedom

➡️ "My personal goals are to have complete freedom over my energy, money, time, choices, and purpose; to be respected by my family, friends, and business colleagues; and to do everything with integrity, treating others the way I would want to be treated."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Freedom isn’t about never working—it’s about designing a life where I control my time, energy, and impact. These five freedoms are the most important freedoms any human can possess.

Wealth as a Tool for Impact

➡️ "I see wealth as a tool for God’s work, not just for personal gain."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Money itself isn’t the goal—impact is. Wealth is a resource that should be used wisely, not just to elevate our own lives but to fund the work God has called us to do.

Giving with Radical Generosity

➡️ "I believe in spectacular generosity, aiming to give in ways that surprise and bless others, showing them the love and generosity of Jesus."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Giving isn’t just something I do—it’s who I am.

Overcoming Challenges with Faith

➡️ "I approach adversity with the belief that every challenge carries a seed of greater benefit, trusting that God is with me through every trial."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Challenges aren’t setbacks—they’re setups.

Perseverance & Lifelong Growth

➡️ "Perseverance, continuous improvement, and a passion for learning are central to my approach."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Every challenge is a lesson. Stagnation isn’t an option.

Who Will I Be to Others?

➡️ "Ultimately, I want to be known as a dedicated follower of Jesus, a loving husband, a caring father, a generous friend, and a good man."

👉 Why I Wrote This: Success is meaningless if I fail at the things that truly matter.

Leaving a Legacy

➡️ "I aim to leave a legacy of faith, generosity, and a life lived in service to others."

👉 Why I Wrote This: A legacy isn’t just about what you build—it’s about the impact you have on others.
